Public Service Announcement (newbies please read)
If you post a PvE/PvP build that involves Mending and/or Healing Breeze, nobody will take you seriously.
If you post a PvE/PvP build that involves Gladiator's Defense, Defy Pain, etc. nobody will take you seriously.
Unless you are using it for a very specialized application (ie. Gates of Madness, solo-farming, etc.), tanking builds will not be taken seriously.
Thank you.

Because tanking builds are worthless outside of specialized applications. This has been discussed before.

I don't understand what is wrong with what Dr. Imperial has suggested.
Why shouldn't people post their builds here regarding specialized applications in the game?
Rera, did you make this post because there is a forum rule against it?
Are we then only allowed to post builds that are deemed to not be "specialized" but General?
Is there maybe a part of the forum where people (all valid community members ) can post builds that interest them even if they are specialized so that even folks like Dr. Imperial can be happy?
Thanks!

@gogoblender: you're misunderstanding what I'm saying.
If you're posting a tanking build for a specialized application, there's nothing wrong with that - go ahead.
However, posting tanking builds for general PvE is basically misinformation. I don't want people reading those threads and then bringing a mending + defy pain warrior for a mission.
The point of this topic is that I used to think GWG was a decent place for information. After posting here for about half a year, I no longer believe that this is the case. There is way too much tolerance for things that don't work, are sub-optimal, or are flat-out wrong.
Think about it - why are there still people posting warrior builds with Healing Breeze in them? Could it be because there are too many newbies who don't know how to use the search function?
It's getting to the point where it's meaningless to post advice on these forums.

I DO NOT agree with that.
What is wrong with glads defense? It gives you a 75% of not taking incoming attack damage, and whenever you block that damage, again a 75% chance, the attacker has damage dealt to it.....now is that so bad? No! It is a great skill. And I have to say Defy Pain could be used "noobishly" like Endure Pain, in that they rely on it when they're health is at like 80 or so, and then when it ends, they die.......that is the bad way to use Defy Pain. However, Defy Pain can be used well, such as when you have full health...its a great tanking skill! I just think YOU need to think a bit more before you post a thread like this.

What!? Why?! That is ridiculous Rera....
Tanking builds for general PvE can be very useful to people who have been having trouble succeeding in tanking. (ex. people who use breeze) and need a good build to use for missions and quests! (like mine)

If you are talking about putting too many (or any at all) enchants in tanking builds...then I totally agree with you....but you arent just talking about that. You are basically saying "NO ONE PUT ANY TANK BUILDS FOR GENERAL PVE, OR ELSE IT WILL SUCK!" ...which by the way is completely outrageous.
Now, as a tank who has been a tank for a long long time, and is most always on my tank...I must say Defy Pain and Glad's Defense are great skills, and can be used wrong, (well glad's defense can't really be used wrong but...) but are usually not.
I don't know if you have come accross a load of really crappy tank builds lately, whether you were having a bad day, whether you recently lost a mission with a tank in it and just feel like calling out tank builds as crap, or something else, but I think you need to stop, think about what you are saying and consider that not all tank builds suck.

Whew! Too much typing for me! Well, anything to defend my favorite Warrior setup!

The Campfire is an area where users can post their builds and (hopefully) have them critiqued and receive feedback. In a perfect world, everyone would read the stickies, use the calculators and every other resource available to them on this site to understand why some skills won't work as well in one area as they will in another. If you're going to tell someone "no that doesn't work", you have to be prepared to explain "why" otherwise they're never going to learn anything on their own. Regardless, the Campfire is used for the discussion of builds.
